Hello again! I’m Amy Komorowski, a longtime Wondercade contributor. Neil’s asked me to help you say goodbye to summer with soothing skincare tips that’ll leave you feeling pampered and glowing as you fall into autumn. (I work with Neil as a groomer, not a writer. I’ll leave the puns to others.) So today I’m recommending some of my favorite products for cooler, drier weather, and also sharing some of my go-to, timeless tips, regardless of the season. It’s always a good time to improve your skincare regimen! Take these restorative steps, and you’ll be left looking and feeling your best — whether it’s a long weekend or not.

1. Face oils plump and smooth skin and diminish fine lines — it’s an easy way to add a touch of luxury to your routine. My CIRCA 1970 Face Oil is an all-in-one serum, moisturizer, face oil, retinol, beard oil and night cream, which helps in anti-aging and makes your skin or facial hair look and feel fantastic.

2. Hydration is key — while you’re pampering yourself, or any other time! Drink lots of water in addition to adding products like face oils to your skincare regimen. It will help protect the skin barrier, lock in moisture, and leave skin plump and radiant.

3. Drinks with friends for an indulgent late night out is a popular way to pamper yourself — but you may pay the piper when you wake up with an extra puffy face the next morning. Before you go to bed after a night out, apply a face mask, like this one from 111Skin, and a cryo wand, like this one from Georgia Louise, from the fridge/freezer. What’s a cryo wand? They’re cooling sticks aestheticians use to enliven, de-puff and tighten skin.

4. It may not sound super relaxing, but a simple, lightning-fast way to waken up and freshen your face is a bowl of water and ice! (Think of it like a cold-plunge spa treatment.) Dunking your face in a freezing cold bowl of ice water helps increase blood circulation, minimize pores and calm inflammation. It’s cheaper, faster and way better for your skin than a triple espresso!

5. Finally, if you’ve never used a face roller, try it! I like the Vanity Planet Tona. Facial rollers are like mini-massagers for your skin. (How luxurious is that?) Simply apply a moisturizer or face oil and massage your face — it de-puffs and improves blood flow, making your skin look brighter. A great, easy-to-use gizmo that adds a welcome touch of luxury to your daily routine.
