Wondercade x Game Box Wines Rosé

For My Next Trick, Watch Me Turn the World of Wine Upside Down!

I partnered with Game Box to bring you the most magical rosé ever — in a game-changing, game-playing package

Neil Patrick Harris is the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Wondercade. In his spare time he also acts — fairly well, too, as his Tony and Emmy Awards can attest.

It is my firm belief that life should be entertaining, and spent in good company. That’s the entire reason for Wondercade existing — for me to share all of my favorite things with you so that you might live a more exciting, stylish, fun-filled life. So as this little experiment grew and (just as I hypothesized) subscriber numbers soared and we expanded from a newsletter to a full-fledged website and emporium, I wondered what I could do for my next trick that would bring people together for a damn good time.

I asked myself, “Self, what’s more fun than game night and a bottle of wine?” And then I realized I had asked myself a trick question. But even I cannot outsmart myself, so I arrived at the right answer: The only thing better than game night and a bottle of wine is game night on a bottle of wine. Or, to be even more precise (so I guess I can outsmart myself), game night on a box of wine that’s actually the equivalent of four bottles.

I made it my mission to deliver you this epic good time in a box, and now, after a lot of work with some of my favorite winemakers, vintners and designers, I’m beyond proud to introduce Game Box Wines Rosé by Wondercade! This isn’t that stuff you spilled all over the frat house basement. We’re talking about a premium, vintage-dated, California appellation rosé infused with pure NPH magic. And by “magic” I mean some of my favorite flavors and aromas, like fresh flowers, strawberry, cherry, raspberry, citrus and melon. I know what you’re thinking, and the answer is no, I am not a winemaker, nor have I ever played one on TV. At least not to the best of my recollection. However, Game Box connected me with one of the best, Steven DeCosta, who helped source only the finest grapes from premier locations across California, with specific terroirs and climates selected to develop the rosé’s complex, ripe, fresh fruit characteristics. That’s fancy wine talk for, this stuff is the goods

But perhaps my most favorite part of this whole project was designing the packaging. The box (Game BOX Wines, get it?) is covered with art, puzzles, riddles, stories, brainteasers and even expert-level Easter eggs from the world of Wondercade — all conceptualized by yours truly, and meant to be enjoyed amongst friends. If you were ever entranced by the games and goodies on the back of a cereal box like I was, you’ll get the vibe immediately.

Also, the packaging isn’t just insanely fun. It’s also smarter and more mindful. To wit, we managed to make three liters exceptionally transportable with our handy top-notch carrying system. The box also features the legendary, mystical “Magic Spigot,” which, along with the stay-fresh pouch, helps keep the wine fresher longer for as much as four weeks of fun after opening instead of the typical two or three days a glass wine bottle provides. How? As a card-carrying magician, I’m insulted that you’d even ask. “Magic” is right there in the name! Finally, our box generates roughly half the carbon emissions of typical wine packaging per 750 milliliters.

There’s perhaps no better way to tell the party, “It’s gonna be a great night.” At least nothing short of having me personally show up and announce that myself. But I can promise you this way is significantly less expensive. I’m practically giving away my magical charm over here!

The best part is? This otherworldly rosé is ready to buy. Right now. Right here. I want you, Wondercader, to be among the first people in the world to get your hands on it. It’s only fair as, a reader of the site that’s this wondrous wine’s namesake, that you get early heads-up — so click on that link to get your hands on one of these beautiful boxes. Cheers.
